ANDROSCOGGIN COUNTY: Leeds
Residents approved a $757,863 budget at Saturday's annual town meeting, a 3 percent reduction from last year's budget.
About 63 people attended the meeting at the Leeds Central School, according to Town Clerk Jane Wheeler. Every part of the proposed budget was approved, she said.
The budget decreased in part because the town made its final payment on some outstanding debt last year, Wheeler said.
In elections Friday, Dwight Buckley was elected to an open seat on the Board of Selectman, defeating Michael Burgess Jr. The vote was 108-13.
